Job Description
Wyndham Hotel Group is searching for a Banquet Captain to work at our beautiful Dolce Q Center in St. Charles, IL.The Banquet Server provides all guests with an entertaining and enjoyable dining experience, through quality service in the most efficient manner, at all times.
Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:
Perform any necessary pre-shift side work.
Maintain a clean and sanitary environment; ensure compliance with all local and state health codes.
Assist in controlling food and beverage costs; enforce all security measures as outlined by hotel management; protect the assets of the company.
Check with the Banquets Director/ Manager when coming on duty for specific instructions for the current function and section assignment. Inspect the set-up of meeting and banquet functions, checking them against the Banquet Event Order.Supervise and assist with the set-up of assigned catered functions, ensuring that the hotel's standards are met, and advance preparation for service is adequate to allow efficient service to the guest once the function begins. Act as liaison between Sales/Catering Manager and the in-house meeting or banquet contact.
Greet all guests in a courteous manner, displaying a helpful attitude.
Anticipate guests' needs, ensuring guests are provided with water, coffee, tea, or beverages in a timely manner. Communicate problems/issues to the Banquet Manager, Banquet Supervisor, or the Food & Beverage Manager. Assist Banquet Manager/Supervisor/F&B Manager with the creation of the Banquet Work Schedule and completion of Banquet Wage Progress Reports. Requisition liquor for all banquet bars and maintain proper control over banquet beverage service.
Unload trays in the service area, racking glassware, scraping plates, and separating silverware.
Practice "clean as you go" techniques of service, including refolding napkins and cleaning between courses, and keeping the station clean, neat, and supplied at all times. Verify server's paperwork when event is complete.Prepare accurate captains' reports.
Supervise and assist with the breakdown and closing side work, equipment and supplies and ensuring properly stored.
Report hazardous conditions or broken equipment to the Engineering Department immediately; in an emergency, notify the Chief Engineer at once.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
