Responsible for assisting in the development and distribution of communication about City services, programs, and initiatives to residents, businesses, and visitors, among other related projects.
Examples of Duties Envision, develop, and distribute engaging communications to promote City services, highlight accomplishments, enhance the positive image of the City, and share community news across a variety of digital platforms Create communications components:
research, generate core messaging, conduct interviews, write content, and develop engaging multimedia content Develop, manage, and distribute content that encourages community interaction and engagement Produce and distribute a monthly digital newsletter Consistently produce and schedule social media content that is fresh, timely, and engaging Represent the Communications Division at meetings or special events, with the flexibility to occasional work evening or weekends activities as needed Assist with other tasks and projects to support communication efforts as assigned by Division Manager Qualifications Bachelors' Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising or related field Minimum of two years of similar professional experience Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills to interact and collaborate with elected and appointed officials, employees, agencies, other governmental units, and the public Keen attention to detail and proofreading skills Capable in curating, creating, and posting creative and effective graphics, video and multimedia content to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Cloud applications, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro Knowledge of content management systems, email marketing platforms, and other required technology Exceptional time and project management skills to prioritize projects to meet deadlines If selected, successful completion of background check and post offer drug screen Supplemental Information Salary and Benefits The salary range is $29.
31 - $41.
04 per hour with starting pay commensurate with experience.
Benefits to include paid holidays, retirement pension plan with Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, and other retirement savings options.
This position is not eligible for health insurance.
